This is my World Geo Wrap up. It explains the things we learned in Social Studies this year. It is about the Roman empire and specifically the fall. It has some basic history of Rome and some push and pull factors. Also it has some connections from Rome to media, myself, and the world. The big idea is stated at the end wrapping up what I would do to prevent the fall of Rome.
African Rainforest Mural
One thing I learned from this project is that the rainforest has an abundance of natural resources. It contains most of the herbs used in medicines and remedies. Also it supplys a lot of the lumber used for paper and such. There is also meat you can eat from the animals that live there. I never knew how much the world depended on these places until I did this project. From paper to coffee we are reliant on rainforests.
I choose this picture for my eportfolio because I had a lot of fun at modern trade day. Modern trade day was based on an idea we heard where a man had traded a red paperclip for different things each better than the last until he got a house. In spirit of that we brought in things from our home that were insignificant to us and traded with our classmates stuff. My best trade is shown below where I traded a mini kaleidoscope for an orange kendoma. I also made other trades such as a smaller ring for a big one and other fun things.
I put this on my eportfolio because I had a lot of fun sculpting and creating this little piece of art. This is a sculpture of a snail on a gorilla holding an ice cream cone. This sculpture was inspired by Donatello and his style of realistic sculptures. I really like how this is a very unique idea with two very differing animals that are together for one sculpture. By doing this project I also got a new understanding for how hard sculpting is and am utterly impressed how well Donatello was able to portray people realistically.
